turn store on and off or something

I will need to turn store off at Christmas due to not being able to gurantee delivery by Christmas. I do not know any other way to handle the orders that may come in by customers expecting items to arrive by 12/24 and I know shipping is slow that week.

Please give me instructions or advice

Re: turn store on and off or something

You could set the site as Down for Maintenance, customizing the down for maintenance file to say what you want to say.

Admin - Configuration - Website Maintenance

Altenatively, you could put your site into Showcase mode:

Admin - My Store - Store Status
