Please help me - missing field on account create

I've been trying to figure this out for over a month now to no avail.

The customer phone number field is totally missing from my create acct page. I purchased the code to do a 1 page check in a few months ago, and within that, I believe was a code that made the tele# field optional (I don't remember now). Anyways, that code gave me a ton of issues so eventually I totally removed it. Since then, the field for the number is just missing completely.

I've searched the forum, and didn't find any issues that were similiar to mine, but I did work backwards from those threads started for people who WANTED to remove the phone number field, and still I can't seem to locate the source of my problem.

Can someone please help me figure this out, it's causing a major headache to not be able to collect a customers phone number for their orders.

Go to the Configuration ... Minimum Values ... and set:

Telephone Number
Minimum length of telephone number

If it doesn't show at all, try switching to the Classic Template to see if your template is missing something ...

I followed your directions -

1. When I set the minimum values to 7 or 10, the field itself still doesn't show.

2. When I temporarily switched to the default template, the Telephone number box is now showing under the additional contact field - great!

However, how do I get fix it in my template? Should I upload the original english.php file and tpl_createacct files into my template folder? If so, which ones exactly (i.e. includes) .

We might be able to see something in your template's CSS if we could have a link to your site.

The theme that you are using might have the phone number commented out in that case just uncomment it. If not then look at includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_modules_create_account.php and add the phone number code from that to your template tpl_modules_create_account.php file.

Backup your files before change.

Hi Skip - I went and uploaded a fresh tpl_modules_create_account.php into my template folder...still no dice. The field is totally blank still.

I currently have the minimum value set to 0, because again, when I set it to 7 or 10, the field itself still doesnt show up.

This is so frustrating :-(

You look in side tpl_modules_create_account.php and seen this code?

Ugh I feel like such an IDIOT!

This whole time I was updating/checking the tpl_create_acct and not the tpl_MODULE_create_account . . . I just uploaded a fresh copy of the MODULE_create_acct and now everything is working.
