Deleting Product Didn't Remove From Featured Products?

Question: Deleting a product from the catalog appears NOT to remove it from Featured Products. Is this true? Is there some reason why it should work this way? And can it be tweaked to automatically remove it from featured products when it is deleted out of the catalog? Thanks!

Did you delete it from admin or the database?

Did you clear your cache and still see the item?

Admin site. I went back and did more testing and see that it's deleting out of featured items as it's supposed to. Not sure what happened with this one product. Oh well. Thanks for your help.
