Got issues with additional images AND swap mouseover

I am not sure if it is posted in right place. I have been through the posts regarding additional images. I successfully make additional images work but...

I got additional images added to folders with filenames as instructed by older posts. I have a few problems with additional images.

1. The template shows ```

On source view, it shows incorrectly like this:

It worked fine, but not my custom template. Can anyone please help with this? I have tried to replace the swap image files a few times.

2. the front image has small box with "x" but when I try to do a mouseover on image, there isn't any rollover effect. Also on the individual product page, I try to do mouseover on the additional images and the pop images show up - that's not what I wanted. I wonder if it is possible to do a mouseover on additional images to make the individual product image swap with the additional images instead of having additional images pop up upon mouseover.

You have installed an image-swapping mod? Is it AJAX Image Swapper? If so, try reading or posting in its support thread for focused attention.

The target="_blank" means to open in a new window, not that something is missing.

I know what target =blank means, but please read the code and you will notice that document.write(__) has img src inside a href - so it is incorrect.

no i don't use AJAX image swapper. I am using Swap Images via MouseOver or Click add-on.

OK, I see what you mean. It looks like the image tag got mixed up/overlapped with the <a> tag... I don't use javascript, so not sure exactly how that should be sorted - assuming there is something different than standard HTML.

Well, since I dont use this module, I dont know exactly how it works. But you cant say it's incorrect just because the img src is in the href, it's just a way to store the src of the additional img so we can swap the img later when you click or hover on the additional images.

you are probably right. but everywhere I look, I am not sure where to make it right.
