Directory Permissions

Please can someone tell me how to change directory permissions?

I have a live site and am trying to upload new images for new products but I get the file upload not saved error messages.

I think I may need to change the image directory to 777 but dont know how to do that?

My images are here

but where do you chance to 777?

That depends upon your web host and the program that you use to transfer files to and from your webserver.

If your web host allows it, FTP programs allow changing of permissions, often simply by right clicking on the remote file in a window and selecting the appropriate menu item.

Otherwise, you will need to use whatever method your web host makes availabe via your hosting control anel, e.g. the file manager in cPanel.
