Category/Product setup

How do I set up my categories to be similar to the example on page 155 of the Zen Cart book so I have the category of Wedding Accessories and then indented to display individual options of: Collections, Ring Pillows, Flower girl baskets, etc. I've read the book and can't seem to figure it out. Under Catalog, click on Categories/Products

Click on "new category" and name that Wedding Accessories.

Under Catalog, click on Categories/Products and then click on the category you just created, Wedding Accessories

Your options at this point include New Category or New Product. Click on New Category to create your "Ring Pillows" subcategory. Do NOT add any products to the Wedding Accessories category or you won't be able to add the subcategories - you can have EITHER products or subcategories in any given category (or subcategory) but not both.

Once you have created your subcategories, click on the Wedding Accessories category and then the desired subcategory before clicking on "new product" to actually add products.

I'm going to try that. I already added products to the Wedding Accessories, though. I have the book and will see how I can fix it.

Make another temporary category next to Wedding Accessories and move the products into that. Then you will be able to create the subcategories in Wedding Accessories, and move the products back into these new subcats.

I made a new Main Category and new category under that along with several other new categories. When you say temporary cat then move products back into these new subcats I'm not too sure how to do that. Sorry :dontgetit

Okay! I figured it out. I clicked on the purple M button and moved it to where I want it. I will then delete the category I set up.:clap:
