Is anyone FTPing with Dreamweaver CS4? Need Help

Hello,

Im new to FTP, I am using Dreamweaver CS4 to FTP my files to my site. I have searched everywhere for an answer but I can't find one. (Easy for me to understand anyway)

It may be a really really dumb question but I need to edit the Define_Page_? pages. I can get to the file & I can pull it up for editing, and I have read the Zencart tutorial on how to edit the file.

I just can't seem to load it back up to my site?

If any one can help, I'd be very grateful

Many thanks

Kerry

Hi Kerry,

Have you set up a site with Dreamweaver? If so, are the FTP details also set up?

If the answers to the above were both yes then read on...

You can either syncronise the site (by selection of files/folders) or just site-wide. Alternatively, you can simply 'put' the required files to the server.

The following link should help you out.

Goodluck!

Re: Is anyone FTPing with Dreamweaver CS4? Need Help

Thank you for looking at my question. My site is made through Zencart Admin, but is connected to Dreamweaver to FTP & edit files. If that was what you meant?

When I edit the the following code, it doesn't seem to edit on my site? I am so confused. When I click put, it tells me that it is connecting to my site blah blah, but doesn't actually make any changes?

define('NAVBAR_TITLE', 'page 2'); define('HEADING_TITLE', 'page 2'); <<< Is what I am trying to edit, I put the desired title in the 'page 2' space on both lines, but nothing happens?

Thanks

Kerry

Are your site FTP details correct?

If it's putting the file then it must be going somewhere (most probably the wrong server - maybe a testing server).

Or maybe you're editing the wrong file? Remember that there are the original define-page files, and then there are the template-specific overrides in each language.

Re: Is anyone FTPing with Dreamweaver CS4? Need Help

define('NAVBAR_TITLE', 'page 2'); define('HEADING_TITLE', 'page 2');

Are you sure these are the right defines to be editing? I would think HEADING_TITLE needs to be something like HEADING_TITLE_PAGE_2 - specific to the page; plain HEADING_TITLE could refer to anything.
