€ symbols riddling emails

On my newest site, I've just noticed that emails sent, such as order confirmations ect., are riddled with this symbol: €. Here is an example:

Prodotti

1 x Collana Artigianale - Ceco, Tedesco e Vetro Fiorentino (blFn121) =
€85.00
1 x Handcrafted Bracelet Featuring Venetian Glass Beads (blFn146) =
€48.00
1 x Braccialetto di Stefania! Le Nostre Perline, Argento e Swarovski
(blFn131) = €48.00

Totale parziale: €181.00
Free Shipping On Orders Over 100 Euro (Free Shipping): €0.00
Totale: €181.00
Any idea what that means? Thanks!!

Re: € symbols riddling emails

I believe I have this worked out. Under admin/configuration/E-Mail Options/Convert currencies for Text emails I somehow ended up with the € symbol as part of this group. I reset to the default:

£,£:€,€

And the problem seems to be resolved. However, I am concerned that there may be more to it than this. I've just installed a second language, if perhaps that plays into it somehow...

I agree that there may be more to it. When I send a newsletter, the newsletter itself is fine.... but the "success page" displays the same symbols.

The solution here:

Is to turn of gzip compresstion.

It worked for me.
