E-mail in TEXT format (1.3.8)

If I send an e-mail to all the costumers, if a costumer have set his propeties to receive HTML format he receive the image logo, his full name, the copyright message, the body of te message and the disclaimer messages.
If a costumer have set his propeties to receive TEXT format he receive only the body of te message.

  • Is it possible to add some standard informations also for the TEXT situation?
  • How can I change the default in the signing in to make cheched the newsletter and the HTML format?

Thanks - Giovanni

Re: E-mail in TEXT format (1.3.8)

You can set the options for the newsletter when customer create an account by going to configuration>customer details and scroll down to Show Newsletter Checked. You can select the option you want there.
If you choose the text format the message on the footer should also be displayed. Only the html tags will not be displayed. At least that what I think :flex:

Re: E-mail in TEXT format (1.3.8)

Many thanks for our help.
The default settings work perfectly, but the costumer that have choose the TEXT option receive only the body of the text, and not the other messages.
Any idea where looking for finding the error?
Again many thanks - Giovanni

Re: E-mail in TEXT format (1.3.8)

I'm very sorry, but I don't know well english, and so I'll repost a problem that I've posted some days ago, traying to explain better.

I send an email to all the costumers.
If a costumer, when he signed-in, had choosen the HTML format for receiving the e-mail, he receive

  • the image of the logo
  • his full name
  • the copyright information
  • the body of the text
  • the exclaimer messages

If the costumer had choosen the TEXT format for receiving the e-mail, he receive only the body of the text, and not the other informations.

Surely this problem is present somewhere in the forum, but I'm not able to find it.

Thanks to all for helping - Giovanni

Re: E-mail in TEXT format (1.3.8)

TEXT-ony emails cannot display images, etc the way HTML emails do.
That's by design.

In v2.0.0 there will be much more control over what is displayed in TEXT messages and in HTML messages.

Re: E-mail in TEXT format (1.3.8)

Thanks Dr. Byte, but I was not talking about the image, but at least the name and the disclaimer messages.
Nothing to do, and wait for 2.0.0 release?
