Few changes to top of page

I'd like to put my own logo on the top the page but have it span the entire width, not just the store width. (taking out the top banner area where it says "sales message goes here...") I'm just not sure how to take that whole section out AND make it span the entire page.

And because of that I'd like to move the Home and Log In links possibly into a box on the side.

Are these adjustments possible?

I've searched for a lot of answers to questions I have on other things, so I know how search works. I just wasn't sure what to even call this!

Love the software so far and any help would be appreciated!

Re: Few changes to top of page

You would need a template that divorces the header from the main wrapper or create one yourself to be able to do what you want.
And if your image is static, it may not perform as you think any way

Re: Few changes to top of page

Ok, so nix that idea.

What about this? I posted this in a different section but I think it was the wrong section, so I'll paste it here.

I have 2 logos (2 separate files) that I'd like to use at the top of my page.

Here is the "test" page.
http://hope.cornick.us/

Here is where the site will eventually go with the store.
http://www.project-hope.info/index.html

In the top right hand corner of the second link there is a .swf file that I'd like to integrate into the test page and get the coding figured out.

On the test page, I'd like the .swf file (doves) to be on the right of the logo at the top (Project Hope w/ the purple line).

Any help would be great. :cool:

Re: Few changes to top of page

I am assuming thatyou have read about creating a custom template and adding flash in Zen Cart in the tutorials...

In a copy of the tpl_header.php file you will need to add something like this and adjust for your path & image designations:

<!--bof-branding display-->
<div id="logoWrapper">
    <div id="logo"><?php echo '<a href="' . HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . '">' . zen_image($template->get_template_dir(HEADER_LOGO_IMAGE, DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'images'). '/' . HEADER_LOGO_IMAGE, HEADER_ALT_TEXT) . '</a>'; ?></div>
	  <div id="flashcontent">
		<img src="includes/templates/template_name/images/flash_name.swf" alt="Your_ALT_text" width="600" height="104" />
      </div>
      <script type="text/javascript">
   var so = new SWFObject("includes/templates/template_name/images/flash_name.swf", "movie", "600", "104", "7", "#000000");
   so.write("flashcontent");
	</script>
<?php if (HEADER_SALES_TEXT != '' || (SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET2 != '' && $banner = zen_banner_exists('dynamic', SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET2))) { ?>

Re: Few changes to top of page

Yea, I have read up on that. What I can't figure out is how to get both the logo AND the flash at the top of the page. That's what I'm stumped on.

Putting them side by side so it looks like they are one file, that's my goal.

Thanks for your reply.

This is basically what the code I posted does as "<div id="logo"><?php echo '<a href="' . HTTP_SERVER" displays the standare logo and by default is topleft aligned then the flash is loaded

Once you get that you/we can apply some alignment to the flash but normally need to know the dimensions first

Re: Few changes to top of page

I really seem to be struggling with this for some reason. I can't get the second file (flash file) to show up.
