Tax Price display issue...Help Please :)

Hi all, Having issues with Tax.

First off I will give some info:

I am using version Zen Cart 1.3.8a
Database Patch Level: 1.3.8
v1.3.8 [2008-11-13 20:03:19] (Fresh Installation)
v1.3.8 [2008-11-13 20:03:19] (Fresh Installation)

I have added the module manager for the Simple SEO add on, but I have not enabled the rewrite_mod, so it is not doing anything yet.

The problem: I want my website to display prices including Tax and display the calculation in the checkout. I have added the zones, tax rate and tax class. The result is that on the admin side, my products are showing Tax (ie a Net and a Gross price) but once the product is previewed it no longer shows the Gross Price and the Gross price is not shown on the website catalogue or checkout.

Still haven't got this to work! I have deleted all the configured settings and started again but still unable to display prices INCLUDING TAX on store.

In the 'Admin>catalogue>categories/products' level the Tax IS shown correctly. And at individual product level, the TAX IS shown with the Tax Class working; showing the correct values for Net and Gross Product Prices.

However, when I am at product level and click 'preview' the preview page shows the price without VAT despite it showing Tax on the proceeding page...!?:blink: When I click 'update' the price shown on the product within the category is the INCL Tax price -which is what I want.

I then clear my computers cache. Just to be sure.

When I go into the store, the price shown does not include Tax...AAAAAAGGGGH!:censored::censored::censored::censored:

Settings wise: My Zone Definition is Green.

My Store settings are:

Tax Decimal Places 1
Display Prices with Tax true
Display Prices with Tax in Admin true
Basis of Product Tax Store
Basis of Shipping Tax Store
Sales Tax Display Status 1
Store Status 0

I have based the 'Basis of Tax' on the store as I am UK based and only want to sell to the UK. I have tried other settings for 'Basis of Prod Tax' and 'Basis of Shipp Tax' but it makes no difference.

Anyone have some ideas? I am happy to try anything.:laugh::laugh: well almost anything!

Ok, the plot thickens...

If I change both

Basis of Product Tax to Shipping
Basis of Shipping Tax to Shipping

from store, the website now displays the Price including tax! Hooray!

BUT, the checkout does not seem to register it :wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko:

Example of checkout under these new changes:

Your Total

Sub-Total: £56.52
Sales Tax: £0.00
Total: £56.52

No Tax showing at all! This is despite the store showing the Price including Tax.

Right, I'm off to murder some people...c u tomorrow.

I've kinda got the same problem, except i'm not getting any figure up in VAT at all !!

I don't know if your going through the zen book manual, i am. Trying to sort it out at the mo, if i do - i'll let you know.

I have tried every variable every which way and still can't get the prices on my store to show INCLUDING tax.

Ok, more info...! Vini, you should see if this works for you

Users can see the Price INCLUDING tax when not logged in

But when a user logs in, the prices change to Exclude tax...!:lookaroun weird!

So how do I get products to display prices incl tax all the time?

Customers can't buy unless the log-in!:cry:

Had a friend check the php file and there was only 1 entry.

In the end I changed both to shipping.

Basis of Product Tax Shipping
Basis of Shipping Tax Shipping

And the tax now works properly. I will have to state on the site that we do not ship outside the UK tho.

I guess it has a reason why the Zencart Team decided to rewrite the tax module (or heavily modify it).

I have the same issue. I set in the configuration to display with tax, sometimes it does, but in my shopping cart it changes it to excluding tax. Then when I press continue shopping, my whole store is excluding tax.

I think I will jump out of the window one day...:lamo:
