Templates Buying 1.3 to 2.0 will they work?

I see that zencart 2.0 is coming out soon..

If i say buy a version 1.3 Template from any website out there, will they STILL work for the newest 2.0 when it comes around???

No they will not.

Templates designed for Zen Cart version 1.2 didn't work in 1.3. I think it's a safe bet that templates designed for 1.3 will need some overhauling to make them compatible with 2.0.

That said, one of the hardest parts of templating is getting the look right, so a template with the right images and layout, would not be useless, just not plug-and-play useful.

that kinda sucks.. so will it be easy to upgrade to template?? to the new version.. or will it be a nightmare. ???

That will depend on the template and how well it was constructed in the first place. There's a fair few out there that are nightmares to normal work and which I wouldn't dream of trying to upgrade.

I would expect that Zen Cart 2.0 will be available for the next few years.
