Is this possible?? - UPS Shipping Options

Happy New Year!

I have a client who ships exclusively via UPS.
She would now like me to set up the following (and I have no idea how ;)):

For Signature required charge $2.50 - All categories of shipping

Add $2.00 to UPS fee to all Next Day Air categories and 2nd Day Air

Handling Fee - $5.00 - this is just for the Next Day and 2nd Day categories.

I had previously added a handling fee for the UPS module, but how am I supposed to go about this new additional request that only applies to specific types of UPS delivery?

I know I can add an option (using a clone of maybe some other ship module) to check the box for signature required and attach the $2.50 charge that way. But not the individual handling fees for Next Day/2Day.

Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

You would need to customize the UPS shipping module and capture the actual shipping method and add the appropriate charges to each one individually rather than just the Handling charge as it is setup to do now ...

I have no clue how to do that ... but I suppose I'll look through the ups module anyway. I'm not php-literate enough to mess with it.

Can the UPS module be duplicated, you think?

It can ... not a lot of fun to duplicate UPS or USPS but all of the modules can be cloned this would be difficult on this one though as most get lost in the code ...

I don't think cloning is really what you need but customizing as you want different additional charges for different shipping methods not necessarily related to zones ...
