Payments processing but no orders coming through

Hi,

I just set up Zen Cart v 1.3.8 and am currently testing my order processing. I have not done any addons, I looked in the FAQ and I searched the forum (found several similar threads but no answers) so here I am.

I am setting up a site that will be all ebook downloads. Each title will have a couple different download options. I just set up my first product and tested the order function to see how the download would work. Well...it didn't. Paypal processed the payment and I received both confirmations (customer and store) but I didn't receive an email to download the ebook and when i was sent back from paypal there was no download link.

Also, when I check in the orders section of the admin panel there is no record of an order having been processed.

I have the zen cart book which I am following step-by-step but obviously I've missed something. Can anyone make any suggestions on what I need to change or, even better, suggest someone who might be willing to set this up for me for a fee? ;)

If the order is not showing up in your store, and you're using the PayPal Website Payments Standard module, then the problem is occurring because PayPal's server cannot successfully talk to your server to release the order.

I'm having the same issue with one of my clients.. They received two payment confirmations, and no corresponding store order.. I turned on error logging, and tried to test.. The orders do not return back to the cart after completing the payment in PayPal.. The payment appears in their account, and the order does not show up in the store.. Since the return to the cart hangs, the error log shows nothing..

I tried the CURL and IPN test tools, and both show everything is okay.. So I'm stumped..

I had to turn off the PayPal Standard module and activate the PayPal Express module.. It works, but the downside is that PayPal Express requires customers to have a PayPal account which is an issue for customers who do not have a PayPal account. I suppose that will be resolved when we get Authorize.net activated and configured.. I really would like to get the PayPal Standard moduleworking..

Diva, you are my goddess. Not an ideal solution but better than nothing. I tried everything you listed as well and it just didn't work. I dunno.

What's REALLY odd is that I launched 5 sites at the same time I launched this one, and this one is the only one having this particular issue with PayPal Standard.. Three of these sites are hosted using the same webhost as the K Dezines site.. Totally maddening..:censored:

I was able to "recover" the two orders that came through PayPal, but did not appear in Zen.. I had a theory that the orders were still in the "guest cart' mode in an incomplete status.. So I used the "Login as Customer" module to complete these orders.. This mod allowed me to recover those orders by logging in and completing the checkout process so we at least had an order to apply the PayPal payment against.. (We use Super orders for order management, and it supports manual payment entries) I shudder to think what we would have had to do to make this happen if I hadn't decided to download and install this little gem of an add-on..

(shoulda refreshed my FTP software..:blush:) Anyway here's the log file for my test transaction.. Everything "seems" normal..

There are multiple log files for each transaction.
The info you posted is only the prepared data that was sent to PayPal. It doesn't show anything about the response coming back.
If it hasn't generated any other logs, then PayPal's server is unable to talk to your server. You would use this article for tips on fixing that: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/PayPal

I'll post the rest of the log files later tonight..

In the meantime, I have other clients who use the same webhost as this client. (the one who I'm having the issue with) They are not having ANY issues with PayPal transactions coming through.. I TRIPLE checked all of this client's setting in PayPal and Zen Cart.. So this is particularly frustrating..

I'm running ZC 1.37 and i've had this same problem with paypal forever. This problem seems to stem from setting up paypal ipn to accept credit cards, which for some reason turns off the automatic redirect feature. So, when a credit card order is completed, if the customer doesn't click the link back to your site then the order details are not sent back. Paypal says they are working on the issue, but I don't hold my breath with them.

Looking for mods to fix this or to be able to turn a customers shopping cart into an order manually without having to re-enter any information. I have the Admin Login as Customer mod installed and it does allow me to login and see what's in a cart, but I can't get the "place an order" function to work. Next up; try Super Orders.
