How to do discounts for ADDITIONAL units?

Zen Cart 1.3.8a
Database Patch Level: 1.3.8

Is it possible to set up a discount that does the following:
QTY 1 = $50
QTY 2 or more = $10 for each additional unit

So...
QTY 1 = $50
QTY 2 = $60 (total)
QTY 3 = $70 (total)
QTY 4 = $80 (total)
QTY 5 = $90 (total)
QTY 6 = $100 (total)

etc.

Thanks

Re: How to do discounts for ADDITIONAL units?

Thanks. I did search tutorials but I can't see how to do what I want to do using Quantity Discounts. Maybe I just don't understand how to use it. It seems to me that Quantity Discounts simply applies a discount to ALL products once you reach the minumum amount. I want to apply the discount only to products AFTER the minimum.

So... if you bought 1, you pay pay full price. If you buy 2, you pay full price for the first, but a discounted price for the second. If you buy three, you pay full price for the first but the discounted price for 2nd and 3rd. Etc

In my case, for every unit after the first unit, the cost is $10/unit

So...

QTY 1 = $50
QTY 2 = $50 + $10
QTY 3 = $50 + $10 + $10
QTY 4 = $50 + $10 + $10 +$10

Thanks

In the discount table

QTY 1 = $50 or 50 ea
QTY 2 = $60 or 30 ea
QTY 3 = $70 or 23.33 ea
QTY 4 = $80 or 20 ea

Re: How to do discounts for ADDITIONAL units?

Ahhh. I get it. The old brute force method. Ok. I thought maybe there was some way to programmatically do such a thing without explicitly entering each QTY, which does have some limitations (e.g., do I want to build a table that goes all the way up to 20 units, 50 units, 100 units?).
Thanks for your help.

That was my point. The limitations of using the table approach instead of a calculated or programmatic approach.

Re: How to do discounts for ADDITIONAL units?

By default there are 5 but you can specify the #.
But you should get a handle on quantity discounts and not do these in increments of "1"

QTY 1 = $50 or 50 ea
QTY 2 = $60 or 30 ea
QTY 3 = $70 or 23.33 ea
QTY 4 = $80 or 20 ea
QTY 5-10 = $?? or ?? ea
QTY 11-20 = $?? or ?? ea
QTY 21-30 = $?? or $?? ea
QTY 31-40 = $?? or $?? ea
