Some items available for international shipping & some not? Anyone know how?

Hi,

I was wondering whether it is possible to have some items shipped internationally and some not.

I get items from different suppliers, but some international postage is more than others.

How do I set up my items so that some can be sent international and some can't?

If anyone can help with this that'd be great.

What if a "local" customer orders both an "international" product and a "local" product in the same order?

Then the local customer would receive both items 'locally?'. I.E we'd send both products to their local address as they are not an international customer.

If it was the other way round and an international customer bought an international item and a local item, then we wouldnt be able to process the local item.

If I fill a shopping cart BEFORE I log in, then your ZC won't know if I'm local or international (unless you invoke shopping only after login).

So, unless you invoke "shopping only after login", how are you going to know if the items being placed in the cart need to have the "international" shipping restriction/condition applied?

I suppose there could be a way of inserting a conditional of some kind into the code that basically does this:

IF customer zone = "international" AND product selected = "affected product(s) ID's", then apply shipping module "X"

ELSE apply shipping module "Y".

But you'll need to discuss this with a good code expert!
