not sure what to do

ok so i got my first order and it happened to be from the uk(im in the us). i checked the order page and looked at the total and even though it was in GBP i knew something didnt look right with the total.

the total for the whole order should have been about 28$usd but the total was 14.52gbp(21.98$us). i converted all the items prices using xe.com and even my prices/shipping were converting wrong.

i also noticed during calculating postage on my site that at the top of the calc. page it says the total weight is .375lbs but lower in the shipping options to choose its saying the total weight is 3.38lbs!

can anyone help point me in the right direction. i thought i had everything setup correctly but....

sorry if this doesnt go here but i wasnt sure where to put it.

Re: not sure what to do

Admin> Configuration> Shipping & Packaging - remove the Tare Weight

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Re: not sure what to do

it should be around $18.30 usd...

The USD under admin>currency should be set to 1.00000

the British Pound should be set to 0.653902

Normally I put the currency rounding in my favor in order to cover for small currency fluctuations and also because this is bank trading rates and does not include the transfer fee usually a couple of % charged on conversion.

for the weight it looks like you might have tare weight in the amount of 3 lbs enabled

thanks for the answer kim. :) so far it looks like that has fixed it(dont need any customers unhappy) but i do have one more question. when the customer checked out, the prices it gave to them was less than the prices i had set in the shop. will fixing the tare weight solve this as well?

Disabling the tare weight will change only the shipping cost. Tare weight is used to charge extra weight to take into consideration the weight of the packaging.

Re: not sure what to do

any idea why it would have charged them a different amount than the prices i have set. the order was for 2 items(14.5$ and 4.5$=19$us) just the 2 items should have been 12.54gbp+shipping(~5$us or about 2.50gbp). the sub-total shows up as 11.82gbp and shipping shows as 2.70gbp. the shipping seems right but the total for items seems off.

I meant in the admin section where you log into with your zencart username and password. I didnt mean to change code in the currency.php file.

Re: not sure what to do

i know. i was saying that i deleted the currency in the admin section. i was going to try to add it back with out having to do it all manually. i was just wondering if this info was stored in a file/folder of the download that i could upload to make it simpler.
