Supress Tax on Downloadable format/attribute?

My site sells videos using 2 formats; DVD and downloadable.

The formats are set up as attributes.

Is there a way to supress tax calculation on the downloadable format? I only can see changing the Tax Class on the whole product not the attributes of the product.

Separate Tax Classes or enable/disable of Taxes for attributes is not a feature of Zen Cart at this time ...

Currently, the Tax is controlled by the Product itself ...

You might try separate Products and use something like Cross Sell to relate the two formats together ...

Just curious... what state are you in that wants physical products to be taxable but allows virtual products to be tax free? I've never heard of a sales tax exemption except for things like clothing.

We are in CA.

CA residents pay tax on DVD's but not on downloads. At least that is what I am told.

I am just the IT Guy.
