Disabling the links for Top Categories in Side Box

I'm using 1.3.8a and I've just about finished the cleaning up I need to do to finish the site.

In the categories sidebox, I want to leave the name of the main category in place, but not have it linked.

e.x.

Mens

  • Clothing
  • Jewelry
  • Accessories

in the example, Mens is the main category, clothing, jewelry, and accessories are the subs.

I want the sub categories to retain their links, but I don't want Men's to be linked at all.

Re: Disabling the links for Top Categories in Side Box

If you don't want the top category to be usable at all, then you don't need it to actually be a category. You could move all the subcats to be top cats, with sort order to keep them in the right sequence, and use the Categories Dressing "non-linked heading" feature to recreate the "Mens" heading.
