Can't Get Past System Inspection

Ok, I am relatively new to the whole ecommerce thing, but I do consider myself rather tech savvy

Thing is, I have followed this forum for the last 10 hours and done everything that different people say I should do... yet nothing seems to be working. I cannot get past the System Inspection page.

It says that the admin/includes/configure.php file needs to be writable - which it is
Also it says that includes/configure.php file is also unwritable = i have checked these files a million times and they ARE writable.

One last error is PHP session.use_trans_sid = ON ... dunno what to do about this one... Anyone willing to help a newbie?? Please?

Thanks

Re: Can't Get Past System Inspection

It appears that you can't change permissions on some hosts' Windows servers. I assume you've tried using your control panel File Manager, as well as FTP. You may have to contact your host, or (my suggestion) find a new one which uses Linux servers.

I'm not a Linux fanboy, but Zencart seems happier running on Linux, and I prefer to use hosts which allow me to do the stuff I need to do.

Yeah, every time i try to change the file permissions from 666 to 777 - it automatically resets to 666. Although, the user manual for zen cart says that 666 is also acceptable.
