Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

hara:

Wait for v4.0.0 then. Thank you so much!

I wouldn't wait for 4.0, I would update now. Conor has other things to do besides working on this free module. He has to work on it on his spare time and that sometimes is limited in his case.

I hope you are getting along OK these days Conor. I hope your health is improving.

conor:

Hi,

I don't know why no-one else didn't notice.. I'm surprised that this wasn't noticed before.. I thought the module have zero bugs left, but there's obviously still this one.

I've been saying I'd like it finished for the end of the month for about 8 months now. I'm afraid I can only say the same again "I hope by the end of the month".

All the best...

Conor

Hi,

The module doesn't run for the checkout pages.

However, it does run for pages that use application_top.php

You can add exclusions for any file including application_top.php, EXCLUDING any query string parameters.

E.g. you can exclude

/module_folder/module_file.php

But NOT:

/index.php?main_page=some_module_files_page

If you are using the second format, for any files including application_top.php, you need to rewrite FEC to not use the same URI format to load files as Zen Cart, but to use custom file names.

It makes no sense to have the same format as Zen Cart if the file isn't actually a Zen Cart page. This is how all other Zen Cart software I've encountered integrates the Zen Cart system into their scripts (e.g like PayPal callback script etc.).

Hope that helps you fix your module's incompatibilities with Ceon URI Mapping.

All the best..

Conor

This response is overdue but I've had other customers complain about compatibility issues. FEC creates pages just like any other defined page in Zen Cart. It is NOT like the PayPal module at all.

Sorry but I simply don't have the time to look into third party modules. If FEC creates pages just like other Zen Cart pages then it should work fine with Ceon URI Mapping. I'm aware of stores that use both modules together without problems, which is what I would expect.

If you find a specific problem please let me know and I'll modify the software if needs be. In the meantime I'm working on a few module releases, including Ceon URI Mapping 4.0.0, which has a different approach to its initialisation.. maybe that'll fix the problem with whatever it is that FEC does differently from other modules for whichever clients of yours have problems. Hopefully that turns out to be the case.

All the best...

I would like a little clarification here.. Because as far as I know the free FEC version has one MINOR (documented) clash with Ceon URI Mapping which is resolved quite easily with a simple file exclusion.. So when you are talking about conflicts are you referring to the free FEC version or the commercial FEC version

Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

Hi
I wanted to know if this CEON module is compatible with easy populate. It seems not as i uploaded products using txt file after export initially then modifying the file. This caused the url mappings to go haywire. Maybe I did something wrong (most likely) but i was just wondering how the mappings remain when reloading products/categories using addons such as easy populate. I'm using the latest versions of zencart and CEON. Thanks in advance for replies.

regards
Mike

Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

Hi Conor
is there any updates so this works with easy populate? I am using latest versions of zencart and CEON currently. Also would a easy populate import allow me to set the urls in the file and have them autogenerated on upload.

Mike

Hi Mike,

There is no integration of the module with Easy Populate at this time.

I'm afraid the forum rules prohibit me answering that here.

I don't use the PM system. However, I have no e-mails that I have not replied to as far can see. Certainly not for anyone called Angeltown. What is your name?

Send again if you need help or ask here, this is the official support thread (which is how Zen Cart works).

All the best..

Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

Hi Conor,
Thank you so much for this great module.
I have installed it flawlessly on my website and I can see the module under admin/modules. I have no idea about what is next or what other steps to follow. I know I have to go to each individual items page in the catalog and tick (set up) but nothing is showing up there yet. Maybe this was mentioned somewhere along the thread but I can't seem to find it. If so please refer to the page number of the thread or provide a link.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you haven't made the core file modifications yet. You should follow the installation instructions from the start again, making sure you follow every step. That should get things working for you.

All the best..

Hi Conor,
Thank you for your quick and prompt reply.
Unfortunately that's above my league and I will have to hire someone to do it for me. I've already made the arrangements. Thanks again.

Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

Hi, I'm getting this error when I try to upload my sitemap file to Google Webmaster tools (I'm using Sitemap XML add-on):
HTTP Error: 302
URLs not followed
When we tested a sample of URLs from your Sitemap, we found that some URLs redirect to other locations. We recommend that your Sitemap contain URLs that point to the final destination (the redirect target) instead of redirecting to another URL.

Generate language id is disabled. I'm using v1.3.9h
Can you help me with this? Thanks in advance

This error in unrelated to the Ceon URI Mapping (SEO) module.. Did you perhaps post this in the wrong support thread??

Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

I don't suppose there's a way to have the mod auto-update all products that don't have any mapping yet with the default mapping?
It kind of sucks when I have 1000+ products to click through and activate the default mapping for.

If people would only read just a little!!!!!!!!!!!
Donations do help create new features.

countrycharm:

You will have to do them manual one at a time. For all products at once auto feature Conor cannot answer this question here on this support forum as the rules of this forum prohibit the support or discussion of paid modules on the part of the module creator. The particular module you speak of will be a commercial module, and if you want more information on it, you will need to contact Conor via e-mail. (use the contact form on the Ceon website)
