How to remove the "tell a friend" feature ?

I would like to remove the "tell a friend" button and disable this feature completely.
Hackers are using it to hack into the site or send offensive messages. It does more harm than good.

How do I remove "tell a friend" in the admin panel ... if it cannot be done in admin, where in the code do I remove it ?

My version is 1.2.5d

Please help urgently. Thanks.

Re: How to remove the "tell a friend" feature ?

athooya, the best help someone can give you is to help you upgrade to Zen Cart 1.3.8a.

With the many improvements to security & features it is well worth the extra effort; even though your Template would have to be replaced / recoded.

Just a thought.

The learning is in the doing.

Re: How to remove the "tell a friend" feature ?

... not to mention the early versions of Zen Cart will cease to operate when the server is upgraded to php5+.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

couldnt be stuffed reading this whole thread, but basically i just wanted to say just disabling the buttons and sideboxes in admin wont stop the sclript spammers who can still access the form via the url.

you actually have to break the function somehow , by either editing the template or the header php file for the module.
