Re: Slow site

Your banner alone is 72.53 KB

IH2 did a good job on product images, but other than those you have to check your other images such as banners, backgrounds,... which are not controlled by ih2

Also, it can be possible that your host is slow. If that is the case you have to contact them.

Re: Slow site

Does IH2 process images on the server side? (I'm not familiar with IH2)

Re: Slow site

I don't think your page is slow .. I think is server you are hosted on is slow .
I have slow site due to my host .. comparing your site with mine using by pinging both domain , my site responded in half the time then yours.

i believe it is the response from server that is taking long and not the page load.

Re: Slow site

ping has nothing to do with page parse time presented in footer.

How many products, how many categories do You have? How many records are in products_to_categories? How many manufacturers?

It does that only once per image.

I have :
products: 2389
Categories: 8 main 112 sub
Manufactures: 29

Some of the products are under more than one sub category. I want them all under multiple cattegories but I have not gat it done yet.

Re: Slow site

I looked at your site a few hours ago and it was horribly slow. I looked again just now and it's somewhat better, but still not great.

Even with very large images and >2k products, I doubt that is your problem.

If you are in a position to explore alternate hosting providers, that might be good. There are a number of good ones mentioned here in the forums. I have even heard of some offering to load and run your site on their servers so you can see yourself how well your shop would run.

I would mention names but that seems taboo here. Watch for Wizards and Kniggits.

With 2k products zen cart should perform ok (not good, just ok). You might try to install zen cart on Your computer and check how it performs. If it's much faster then on Your hosting company server, You should blame them.

Re: Slow site

update:

My hosting company found that the server where MySQL was loaded had some issues. We have moved my database to another server, and site has speeded up tremendously. It is not where I believe it should be yet and they are continuing to work on it.
