After importing from excel, I get main_page=_info URLs which produce 404 errors

I'm running into the same problem, all my product links have the *&cPath= and I get a 404 error. Here is an example:

*http://customizthat.com/zen/index.php?main_page=_info&cPath=89&products_id=21976

Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem?

Thanks,
Patrick

Re: After importing from excel, I get main_page=_info URLs which produce 404 errors

Actually your problem is something completely different. The &cpath is supposed to be there.
The problem is with the link but in a different spot:

http://customizthat.com/zen/index.php?main_page=_info&cPath=20_21&products_id=21743

when it supposed to be:

http://customizthat.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=20_21&products_id=21743

check your includes/filenames.php and look for:

define('FILENAME_PRODUCT_INFO', 'product_info');

Re: After importing from excel, I get main_page=_info URLs which produce 404 errors

Here is the area from filenames.php

('FILENAME_PRODUCT_LISTING_ALPHA_SORTER','product_listing_alpha_sorter');
define('FILENAME_PRODUCT_TYPES', 'product_types');
define('FILENAME_PRODUCT_INFO', 'product_info');
define('FILENAME_PRODUCT_REVIEWS', 'product_reviews');
define('FILENAME_PRODUCT_REVIEWS_INFO', 'product_reviews_info');

Many thanks!

I'm not sure how the url is put together and why it would be missing that piece. Hopefully somebody will come along and enlighten both of us.

How did you import your products?

From Excel. Saved as a Tab Del text file.

Sounds like you are missing a piece of the database - there are several related parts to products and categories you need ...

Eww... I hope I'm not missing anything. Maybe someone else may have run into this issue before and can help. Somehow, this is getting mucked up..

If it would help at all, I can post or send my product file.

Thanks for your help, you time is MUCH appreciated.

Re: After importing from excel, I get main_page=_info URLs which produce 404 errors

You've likely imported your data without all the required information.
Getting main_page=_info suggests that you've not assigned a valied product_type to each of your products. You can't leave that column out. It must be a valid number, typically 1.

If you're going to create your own import methods, be sure you do an export first to identify all the fields so you can fill them all in, rather than skipping them and leaving incomplete data.

Ok, well you learn something new everyday. I hadn't thought of that.
