Size of logo (in percents)

Hi all

I would like to know, is there any way to set size of logo in percents? My logo is about 1000px, shop width is 80%, so at screen res 1024x960 logo is too wide. I think about setting somewhere 80% width & height of logo, so it would be ok for my shop.

You can take a look at

Thank You in advance for Your help.

Re: Size of logo (in percents)

you can't set your logo with percentage , images are made of pixels and use pixel value for their size.
to fix the problem with resolution , its better to set other elements to pixel rather then percent ..

most people design their site for 800x600 resolution .. thus main content would be sized at 760 px...

Re: Size of logo (in percents)

You can use percentages to set your image size, but it's not recommended. As tony_sar has said, images in browsers are pixel based so if you scale them up or down, you are relying on browsers to amend the display of the image - a job that some of them do rather poorly.

I disagree about the size of typical site designs though. Nowadays most new designs are designed for a width of 950-960px wide, or for the headers to extend to 100% width.

Re: Size of logo (in percents)

You can try using two images, one of which slides behind the other to make what appears to be a single logo wider or narrower, as required. It's called the sliding door technique, I think. You can Google about it.

I would suggest putting the bike and the right end of the logo on the lower image, and the rest of the logo on the upper image. Make sure the left part has the black background stopping just to the right of the words. Then the right image (with the bike) has a long area of black to the left of the bike which slides under the left image. As the site gets wider, it slides out and the only thing that changes is the amount of black showing between the words and the bike.

There are limits to how wide or noarrow you can go with your logo, but this technique might work for you.

It's more complicated to describe than to do.

800x600 is really small, not may people use that res anymore.
