Remove the CHECK FOR UPDATES button in admin section

how do i remove the 'CHECK FOR UPDATES' button located in the top right corner of the screen when logged in as admin?...

is there some code i can comment out somewhere?.. if so.. how and what?

i installed the Admin Profiles by kuroi, it worked a treat.. but im worried staff might still mess up the site by pressing that button...

that button will not update your site automatically , only checks your version of zencart to see if there are any update available , if so , you still have to do them manually

I added the signature AFTER making the post. However, for everyone's benefit, my new signature says:

SPEND TIME IN THE ADMIN PANEL - FIND OUT WHAT AFFECTS WHAT - YOU'LL BE SO GLAD YOU DID.

my problem is that when it is clicked it causes the browser to crash ( both FF and IE - i dont know why.. nor care )

so id like to remove the button in question to stop any accidental or deliberate pressing... im not after messing with code... i just with to comment out the specific bit of code so it doesn't appear..

any ideas people? :wacko:

Would you care if the button that customers clicked to send money your way, didn't work... ?

Sometimes, a problem that seems specific (or isolated) to a particular element has a wider consequence. It may be in your interests to find out why that function crashes the browser, because similar functions may have the same effect.

Might be an issue with cURL

fairestcape: yes.. i would... but i have never had a reported problem and we test on IE, FF, Chrome and (fingers crossed) not had any problems...

If this is a cURL problem, you may have big problems taking credit card payments through a payment gateway (eg: paypal, nochex, authorizenet)
