All Products showing as New Products!

All the products in my shop are showing when you click on the new products link!
Is there a way to choose what products will show when you click this link? I think I might have missed a setting somewhere in the admin panel. Sorry if this is a really stupid question but I don't know how to fix it!

Thanks for any help with this
