Label printing without labels

Has anyone seen a printer that is able to print labels directly on to padded evelopes?

Why not just print the labels?

The labels cost almost as much as the envelopes! Also, the labels are one way how packages get lost.... the labels come off sometimes!

Pencil tips broke off and become a zero gravity safety hazard.

NOTE: Running envelopes through a printer breaks the printer ... broken printer = $$$$ more than a box of labels ... :eek: (... and maybe a bit of clear shipping tape run over them to make sure they have no loose edges.)

What printer did you find / use, even though it broke, that was able to print labels directly on to padded evelopes?

I have just worn out printers with regular envelopes and really thick paper products ... I can imagine how much padded envelopes would break things ... even UPS and USPS use labels ... :lamo:

Not always easy to put tape over the label especially when you are forbidden to by the US Goverment :smile: (internet postage).

What parts we can put tape over we try to do it. The thing is when you are busy you try to cut out all excess waste of time and save every penny you reasonably can. Otherwise you have to hire someone else and there goes most of the profits and more tax headaches. It appears a printer that prints on padded envelopes does not exist or at least nobody knows about it..... maybe it is possible to use an unpadded envelope and print the label then put padding into it afterward?

labels and tape are cheap....

Well I guess I will have to reverse my trip from the patent office.

I print to 24lb bright white paper, then trim and paste with white glue. I nominate my self for the cheap @#$ award.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm posting this anyway as it'll be relevant to people looking in future.

You may want to take a look at these integrated labels that, with a bit of tweaking to your printable invoice template, will give you a peelable postage label complete with returns address, company logo etc on the invoice sheet that is normally printed out anyway.

integratedlabels.co.uk/ (UK site, but google around and you should find alternatives in your country, wherever that may be!).
