Move from /shop/ to root?

I need Zencart to be my web site. I have installed Zencart in a "subdirectory" called "shop" and need it to come up when the web address is clicked https://www.craftwa.com
At the moment I have an existing site with the "index" page etc... and need to get rid of that and replace it with Zencart.
Can you help?

you can move entire files from SHOP folder to your root ..

then you need to make simple modifications to two configure.php files ..

those modification are done to the store path .. for example ,
current configure.php might have the following store path

http://www.craftwa.com/shop
and you need to change to
http://www.cratwa.com

and do that for all paths that contain word shop ..

no need to modify database ..

I use Dreamwaver, so how do I "move" files and folders? do I cut and paste or is there a better method?

I have Dreamweaver and also FileZilla. I usually use Dreamweaver to do all my editing and ftp uploading, but I have used FileZilla as well to do some quick uploading.

Thanks for the info, very helpfull but, I have seen the tutorilas/artical and there is a utility that I can use to check out my install/move, I don't know how to use the utilty. I have downloaded it and unpacked it as per the instructions but as a utility I don't have any idea how to run it.

I found instructions on how to run the utility, and it says "no changes needed" but I still can't get my Zencart to be my "home" page after moving it from "shop" to "root" directory

remove the old page that you had there .. you have index.html that is being displayed first. thats how servers are configured to start with index.html , then move down to index.htm, index.php .. etc..

so your server sees your older index page and displays that ..

I have renamed my old "index" page to "index2" and I now have some of my Zencart shop in place but not all. It is still showing the "centre" of the page a s the Zencart Template not my Template, but the rest seems ok aprt from the side boxes.
I also can't log in to "admin" to make any changes etc...

If I click on any of my "shop" pages I get the following error message:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
