Language Packs - Do they translate product descriptions?

Hi Guys, I am interested in adding a spanish language option for my website. My question is, what parts of the site does this change? Just the menus etc or the product descriptions too?

The language packs are translations of CORE files only - particularly the CONSTANTS such as "define" statements in language files.

Product descriptions are stored in the database, so you will have to translate these yourself. There are a number of other instances where "English" is the default language in database content, and you will also have to add Spanish translations there too.

Language packs don't "translate", they are "translations". As such they can only be translations of terms known to the translator, which sadly would not include your product descriptions.

Some menus, such as the primary navigation menu would be included in the translation, others such as the categories (which you define yourself) wouldn't be.

Thanks guys, I figured that would be the case. Computer translators are shaky at best...looks like I will just have to do it myself!
