Having trouble with margins/padding

Hi all, I'm having trouble with the padding/spacing/margins or whatever (haven't seemed to figure out which it is yet). If you goto www.litepockets.com you will notice the gray border around the categories and lower part of the page. You will also notice that it goes just beyond the right edge.. How do I bring this back in...? It's only like that on the main page.. if you goto http://www.litepockets.com/outdoorheatingpatioheaters-c-21_24.html it is correct. Any one know how to fix it? Also, on the last link, I would like the products to have less space between them. With firebug I see cellspacing=15... but I can't seem to figure out how to decrease that in the stylesheet. I've spent an hour on this already... :frusty: Thanks ahead of time for your help with this!

Re: Having trouble with margins/padding

I suspect it is the Authorize seal which has embedded styles giving it a width of 90px. You'll need to adjust something else on that same line to give it a bit more room.

Re: Having trouble with margins/padding

Thank you for the help. It wasn't the auth or godaddy embeds, but it did make me look a bit more. Turns out the auto width for #indexCategories was somehow screwed up. I dropped it to width 99% and put some padding in there to bring it to the edge. Looks much better now.

However I still have the problem with the 2nd link I gave (or any product listing page).

I can't figure out how to bring the products closer together... For example look at my Patio Heaters Section

Re: Having trouble with margins/padding

There's an empty TD in your table structure between the columns of products.

Re: Having trouble with margins/padding

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the reply. That cell is for the column layout pro or column grid layout, I can't really go without it, it's what makes the column layout possible. Any suggestions on slimming it down?

Re: Having trouble with margins/padding

That cell has a class assigned to it and you can style the width of that class to zero, but it's possible there is a style attached to the TD it's in which is causing the width -- it's about 1/4" on my screen. Investigate both ways to see what works, or use a highly specific definition. (I'm not very good at figuring out specifictiy, but it's something like td.classname or maybe .classname td)

Re: Having trouble with margins/padding

Yeah I think there are two styles creating the problem here. I mean I can shave 3px off by changing the vdotline width style, but it still leaves quite a gap for me. I will figure out what td class to define. Thanks for the idea. I was looking for the "1" culprit the whole time, ... lol, thanks Rob I will tell you what i find out...
