Blank pages .. when creating category and test items.

Latest version of zencart installed on linux with Bluehost.
Installed okay and today I have been adjusting the position of the logo and header file.
I successfully place some dummy c/c orders, paypal orders and all worked fine.
I deactivated the ez pages and made some minor changes in the admin pages to get rid of sideboxes.

The site I am working on is at: https://www.gelcandleswholesale.com

I then decided to move all the default zencart categories and products into a category I named "Testing Only (do not use)"
Just to get them out of my way for now and so I can test some categories and item I entered.
The Categories I created are called "test" and "Votive Candles" and there are a couple of products I created there.

For some strange reason I cannot click on the Categories "test" and "Votive Candles" from my home page.
The age jsut goes blank.

It's strange because I could click on the "Specials ..." link and see the test items I created there.
http://www.gelcandleswholesale.com/index.php?main_page=products_new

Why is happening? I am sure I did something dumb somewhere.

I appreciate your help.
Thanks!

I just followed the How To Use instructions for the debug error logging utility and could not get to step 5.

  1. Open the latest /cache/myDEBUG-xxxxxxx.log file to see the list of any PHP errors that occurred while the page/test was running.

I did open the cache folder and do not see this file. I checked the 'properties' on the cache folder using WS_FTP pro and it does say 777 read, write, execute for Owner, Group, and World.

Any ideas?
Thank you..

Re: Blank pages .. when creating category and test items.

Is that before or after trying to access a page that you said was coming up blank?

DrByte:

It was after.

Seems that I can make a category name in admin, but when I create an item it will not allow me to see it from the 'Categories' box and i get a blank page.

See here:
http://www.gelcandleswholesale.com/

I clicked on the 'test' and 'Votive Candles' located under the 'Categories' box on the left.
I get the blank screens where they should show the items I entered.
I checked the cache folder for the mydebug log file and it's not there.

thanks

Using WS_FTP Pro - you need to refresh the contents of the folder or you won't see the new debug files....

Re: Blank pages .. when creating category and test items.

Sounds like the debug tool isn't in the /includes/extra_configures/ folder on the server.
Or, perhaps it's as simple as bunyip's comment :)

Re: Blank pages .. when creating category and test items.

And when you get the debug logging tool working, you'll probably need to refer to this FAQ to fix the language files it mentions in the error logs: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=87

You were righto! I needed to click on refresh and I see the files.
Once I opened it is showed:

DrByte's last post refers to thread on how to fix those errors
