Change the look of the Search Box

Hi, I am very new to ZC and am struggling with customizing my shop.

I have looked in the FAQ & forum but cannot find the answer to my question, which is - how can I change the appearance of the search box? It currently has the classic layout i.e. "Search" in a heading box, "enter search key words here" under that, a search button under that and then "advanced search" under that.

I would rather it was all on just one line "Search", then the box to type in and then the button to press, no advanced search. I also want to change the text on the button and in the box to type in. I've tried to find the place to edit things using the Developer's Tool Kit. I've altered my header.php in my own template folder (gosh I almost sound like I know what I'm saying!). I don't want to tinker too much in case I spoil what I've already achieved.

Thanks in advance

Re: Change the look of the Search Box

An interesting feature of this forum software... Now that you've asked the question, there are some related links down at the bottom of this page. I've seen this discussed before, likely in one of those related threads.

Re: Change the look of the Search Box

Thank you Rob,

I've read all those posts and managed to change the button so I am very pleased about that!

I still don't know how to remove the 'Advanced Search' bit. It's not drastically important - I just think it looks a bit clumsy.
