An Item That is Both an Attribute and a Product
I sell motorcycle parts and am trying to figure out how to set this up. Am using ZC 1.3.8
We sell a kit to install a reverse gear in a Harley. There is a base kit and four options. That sounds like a product with attributes.
On the other hand, those four options can be sold individually, so they could also be considered products. This makes me think maybe I should insert the base kit and all options as individual products and then use a cross-sell mod to relate them.
The issue I have with inserting each option as a product is that I don't want them to appear in the overall catalog, cluttering up the listings. I just want the main product to be displayed along with the relevant options, whether they're set up as attributes or related products.
Any comments whether this can be accomplished with the stock system, an existing mod, or whether a custom modification would be required?
