Trying to set up shipping - need help

I am new to zen cart and to php. So far I have managed to get most things about my shop sofrted, except for shipping. I donlt seem able to figure it out. Am using latest version of zen cart - 1.38.

We will be selling bottled beer online in the UK. Customers are aware that they can buy individual bottles, so long as their order ends up in multiples of 12 (12 being one full case). They can buy 12 of the same item, or 12 different bottles.

When it comes to shipping, what I need is this:

1. Free delivery to within 100 mile radius of our base. (Basically two counties in the UK, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire).

2. Courier Shipping to rest of england @ £6.50 per case of 12

3. Courier Shipping to Scotland, Wales and Ireland @ £9.50 per case

I can't seem to find a way to set this up. Are there specuific add-on's I need to do this? Or can someone help me figure this out - bear in mind I'm new to this and to PHP so any answers - assume I am really dumb!!

There is no standard shipping module that caters for delivery within a given radius of your warehouse, but Conor Kerr (aka ceon) developed a shipping module that achieves this (and more besides). His advanced shipping module allows you to use geo-location (based on UK postcodes) to specify shipping according to the locality of your warehouse (postcode) compared to the locality of a customer's postcode. I think I have sorted this out now. For anyone who needs to sell just in the UK and needs to define shipping in an 'odd' way, here's what I did.

1. I downloaded from shipping add-on's, a list of all UK counties (submitted by coffee granules)
2. I deleted all countries from the country database, then I created three new ones which were local free shipping, Rest of England, and Scotland-Wales-Ireland -Chanel Isalands
3. Then under each of my 'new' countries, I added the counties related to them
4. I then set up 3 zones, in zone shipping, using my 3 'new' created countries where zone 1 was free shipping, zone 2 the rest of england was one shipping price per item that adds up to my required £6 per case, then in zone 3 I increased the shipping per item to cover for shipping to Scotland, Wales, Ireland etc.

It seems to work fine.

Great that you've sorted this... So you're not going to bother with the 100mile radius requirement in your initial post?
