EZ pages - pop up window

I have "Gem Information" section of the site i am working on (Jewelry Shop)... where i would like to have main page with gem picture and a link to a separate ez page with picture of that stone and lots of information on it (page full of it)... i am pretty sure i can do that with chapters etc....

what i would like to know is if i could put a link to an gem detail ez page on my product detail... where clicking on the link would bring up new small window (not like a full browser, but like a pop up window) with that gem page...

anyone?

Re: EZ pages - pop up window

Look at the code that pops up the larger image in a separate window. Duplicate that elsewhere in the product detail page, and instead of calling an image, have it call your EZ-page.

Re: EZ pages - pop up window

I am going to give it a try... here is another question... i don't really need normal header and sidebar on the popup pages... can i display only the main column?

Re: EZ pages - pop up window

If you don't mind digging into the code, you can probably extract just the parts you need. But if I were me, being a PHP booby, I'd just create a page-specific stylesheeet (see the readme file in the css folder) and then set the style of the elements I didn't want to display to ...

#someElementID { display: none; }
.someOtherElementClass { display: none; }

... and so on.

OK Rob... thanks for all the extra thinking... now my head hurts...

but i've finally did enough thinking to ask a first question (yes, i am not the fastest bicycle on the road)...

considering that i'll be using EZ pages as a pop up pages...

how would i make a "page specific stylesheet" for those pages? considering that i would want to show them with everything in some instances (when you clicking on them from "gem information" link)... and only show the actual detail (when looking at them in pop up page from product detail page)...

here is the "Gem Info" page where clicking on each link would need to be shown with side boxes and headers:

and here is the link to where it would need to show up as a pop up information

hmm... that was pretty hard to be honest...

Re: EZ pages - pop up window

let's try the links thing again

here is the "Gem Info" page where clicking on each link would need to be shown with side boxes and headers:
http://www.subaghjewelry.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=15&chapter=5

and here is the link to where it would need to show up as a pop up information
http://www.subaghjewelry.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=209

Re: EZ pages - pop up window

The URL of that first link contains the info you need for a typical page-specific stylesheet. In other words, if you need such a stylesheet for that page, you would name it something like 25_5.css (I'm not sure that would work.)

But your pop up is not the usual kind of Zen Cart PHP-generated page -- it's an HTML page judging from its URL .../gems/TestPage.html. So to style it, I'd just put the styles into the head element in the code of that page, which I assume you created.
