Can I turn off a sidebox in the checkout and SSL pages?

I have a great new sidebox created with the blank sidebox mod.
Thanks for that.
I've got it showing on the main page, and on certain categories. I figured that one out with help from the forum. Thanks again.
I'm getting blank images in the sidebox when the cart goes to my credit card processor, and the SSL side of the site.
This is because of relative paths to the images.
If I make the paths absolute, I constantly (and I mean EVERY PAGE) get a message saying that the page contains secure and unsecure data - want to continue - that's probably why I've been taking calls ONLY by phone today....

Help!!!

Is ther a way to get the sidebox to turn off while in checkout and/or shopping cart? But stay on for main page and some categories?

Re: Can I turn off a sidebox in the checkout and SSL pages?

There are 4 checkout steps...

Create 4 dir's in your template dir

checkout
checkout_confirmation
checkout_payment
checkout_shipping

and in each place an edited copy of tpl_main_page.php that takes the box in question out

Re: Can I turn off a sidebox in the checkout and SSL pages?

or you could add the highlighted lines of code to
includes/modules/sideboxes/blank_sidebox.php

That way you only need to edit one file to achieve the same result.

<?php
/**
 * blank sidebox - allows a blank sidebox to be added to your site
 *
 * @package templateSystem
 * @copyright 2007 Kuroi Web Design
  * @copyright Portions Copyright 2003-2007 Zen Cart Development Team
 * @license http://www.zen-cart.com/license/2_0.txt GNU Public License V2.0
 * @version $Id: blank_sidebox.php 2007-05-26 kuroi $
 */

  // test if box should display
  $show_blank_sidebox = true;

  if (in_array($current_page_base,explode(",",'login,checkout_shipping,checkout_payment,checkout_confirmation,checkout_success')) ) {
  $show_blank_sidebox = false;
  }

  if ($show_blank_sidebox == true) {
      require($template->get_template_dir('tpl_blank_sidebox.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'sideboxes'). '/tpl_blank_sidebox.php');
      $title =  BOX_HEADING_BLANK_SIDEBOX;
      $title_link = false;
      require($template->get_template_dir($column_box_default, DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'common') . '/' . $column_box_default);
 }
?>

Re: Can I turn off a sidebox in the checkout and SSL pages?

Ok. Now I've got another question regarding the same thing.
Once I log in as a user on our site, I'm seeing the same thing - the little red X's - on all pages.
I'm on a shared SSL server - how can I get around this one?

Are the links on your site???
Make them relative links versus hard links

Also, if the images are on your site, be sure to check your settings for your Hot Link Protection in your Control Panel and that you are not protected from yourself ... :unsure:

Re: Can I turn off a sidebox in the checkout and SSL pages?

Thanks, Linda.
Hot Links is currently turned off. Need to turn it on, but first I have to solve this issue.

kobra,
Right now, they are relative links. When I login, the store redirects to my SSL site - and can't find the pics.

With absolute links, when I login, I keep getting the "you're leaving this page" message - even more annoying...

Once the login is complete, and the user goes back to a product page, the pics show up again.

So - I just need to turn them off on the login pages. What are those called (so I can utilize the method outlined above)?

Thanks again, folks!

Re: Can I turn off a sidebox in the checkout and SSL pages?

What is the page called that you land on after you successfully log in?
I followed kobra's recommendation above - works great. I added the directory for login - works great.
Now - If I just knew what the next page is called, I can get it working great too..

Or better yet - if I knew WHERE to look so I could fix it myself next time??? :cry:

Thanks again in advance.

'/tpl_blank_sidebox.php'); $title = BOX_HEADING_BLANK_SIDEBOX; $title_link = false; require($template->get_template_dir($column_box_default, DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'common') . '/' . $column_box_default); } ?>

I read what you suggest and added this:

```php
if (in_array($current_page_base,explode(",",'login,checkout_shipping,checkout_payment,checkout_confirmation,checkout_success')) ) {
  $show_blank_sidebox = false;
  }
to my /includes/modules/sideboxes/blank_sidebox.php
When I enter a checkout page, login page, etc., it has had no effect? I can still see the left column :-(
Re: Can I turn off a sidebox in the checkout and SSL pages?
OK, solved this a different way. Just add the following to /includes/templates/OVERRIDES/common/tpl_main_page.php
  if (in_array($current_page_base,explode(",",'login,checkout,shopping_cart')) ) {
  $flag_disable_left = true;
  }
Using this once you click "login" the header changes to "logout" so you would need to check for that once logged in.
Try this instead
```php
if ($request_type == 'NONSSL') {
```You can also use this on an individual sidebox basis only, if needed
Re: Can I turn off a sidebox in the checkout and SSL pages?
I do use that for certain sideboxes, but the command I'm using deals with both SSL (login,checkout) and NOSSL pages (shopping_cart).
Once they're logged in, the log out option is available from the header.
