Authorize.net SIM vs. AIM-Which is the better option?

I am having a hard time deciding on which Authorize.net module to use AIM or SIM. If any one can provide some insight to which is a better option, easier to work with, etc., I would greatly appreciate it.

According to DrByte, AIM is more reliable.

AIM - requires your site to have an SSL certificate, but is more reliable and secure. Has a more professional image because payment is collected on your own site, meaning your customer's shopping and checkout experience is more refined and intuitive.

SIM - should only be used if your site doesn't have any SSL support. Strongly recommended to use AIM instead.

Why do you say that AIM is more secure and reliable than SIM? I'm considering SIM because I don't want credit card info entered on my site - I'd rather have the responsibility on authorize.net. What am I missing? Thanks.
