Help! Creating external links in the Define Pages Editor???

Hi all, I'm new here, and I have done quite a bit of work getting my zencart somewhat functional... just need to start adding the products... but I am running into a weird problem that I'm not sure how to address using the define pages editor. When I go in and type what html I want in the text box, everything is fine until I try to post a link to an external source (a blog for example). When I save and go back to my store and click on the link, it simply appends the link, with the quotation marks, to the end of my store's web address. Here is the page I am talking about...

(sorry for the spaces, trying to avoid search engine pick up)

I need to change my link colors to something different than my text color, but it's the last line on the page... If you click on the link, you'll see what I'm talking about. Am I losing it?

OK, I may have just solved my own problem. Turns out the quotation marks that I used ” are different somehow than the quotation marks zencart wants to see "... if that makes any sense... one set is slanted and one is straight up and down.

I can't believe that was the problem. I was ready to throw my laptop in the trash, it was so frustrating.
