Zencart Errorpage even when not anywhere in Zencart?

Hey guys,

I'm a little freaked out / going crazy.

We have our zencart shop site.

https://www.site.com

with zencart working all good
then we have a couple of side websites (html mostly) for example

https://www.site.com/site2/

now, im trying to set up a formmail in site2 and when the form tries to parse through the PHP i get the zencart 404 popup.

Same thing happens if i go to say https://www.site.com/site2/nonexistingpage.html

I don't know how to fix this, and do not understand why zencart is intervening in a completely independent website ?

ps: I'm using SEO URL's and thought that may have played with it, but even with a blank .htaccess in site2 its still doing it.

No i dont have specific pages, but i would expect to see the default explorer / mozilla 404 page. That's my point!

You have probably configured your site to use Zen Cart's page-not-found as your custom 404 page content.

Not sure about the zen 404,

but with the Search URL's, if i remove this portion of code

from root .htaccess it defaults the non ZC sub directories to standard.

Now to figure out what implications it will have if i remove it! :bigups:

You might need that for your seo url's???

Try a htaccess in the other dir's with rewrite engine off

in your sub folder whatsoever, put in htacces:

RewriteEngine Off

Now, remember that a 404 page default by FF is not very helpful, it doesnt tell the users where to go next. Which is the reason why ppl always build a custom 404 page with sitemap, instructions etc in it

Really??? I build them for humor!! Guess I should be more sensitive:blush:

I guess because you do not really care if that may offend some customers, or maybe because of the nature of the business you are in, where humor is good.

I have been working with sites where such behaviors may turn people away from the sites and greatly damage the business :)
