Force Selection of an Attribute

To force selection of an attribute, you need to:
a. add an attribute that is Display-Only (ie: a color swatch that says "Please Select a Color").
b. Make it default.
This forces the customer to choose something "other than" the default (since the "default" is set to "display only").

I tried to require the selection of attributes by following the directions above and it doesn't seem to work. The products are added to the cart without requiring any selection from the attribute lists. Also, is it possible to require more that one attribute to be selected, for example, please select three options from the list below.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Force Selection of an Attribute

We need more details of what you did, because the directions do work if followed correctly.
Make your "Select" option value for the option name.
Add this Select value to the product in Attributes Controller, setting it to Display Only and Default at this time.

It is not possible to require more than one of a set of radiobuttons to be selected.
