Deleting Pages

Hello,

I have what seems to be a pretty easy issue that I can't find an answer to. I want to permanently remove (delete) certain pages from my site. I am concerned that even if I don't have any links that i know about to these sections that they will still get indexed by search engines.
I would like to start by removing the "New Products" pages.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Deleting Pages

Add the pages to your robots skip in meta_tags.php and then turn them off.

Re: Deleting Pages

Alright...I added them to the meta_tags page...but what do you mean by "turn them off"?

Thanks

For example, defined pages can be turned off in the configuration menu

Re: Deleting Pages

If you want to "permanently" delete them from ever being accessed even if someone guesses their address, you'll need to delete or rename the appropriate folders in /includes/modules/pages/
Doing this causes a 404 error to be triggered, or just redirects the visitor to your store's home page (depends on your setting in Admin->Configuration->My Store->Page Not Found)

Renaming doesn't stop links from being generated elsewhere on your site. You'll have to deal with those separately via various admin switches or making specific changes to template files.
