Lead time product ordering?

Hi All,

I have a situation where my supplier has a lot of items that they dont stock, that I still want to sell. When I get thier data feed, in the date available field they will usually have something like 5 days or 2 days indicating that they can get the item with 5 days lead time.

I want to offer this to my customers so they can still order but I am having trouble woring out how to:

1. Be able to order items that have 0 stock
2. Show my customers that there is a lead time on the item

Does anyone know how to do this?

We have many products which our suppliers do not hold in stock, and as such have a standard 10-day leadtime perminantly..

I know I can set a "data available" date.. but that could get annoying if I have to update every day!

The only work-around I have is to put it in the description.. but customers (bless 'em) sometimes miss stuff like that

Anyone got any ideas?
