Email password to customer after digital download

Hi,

is it possible to automatically send a pre-defined email to a customer after they have ordered and downloaded a digital product (i.e. an ebook). Basically, I protect my ebooks with passwords, so I need some way of automatically sending the password via separate email after purchase/download.
Is it possible to do this? I've searched the forum with no luck.

Forget about the fact that the person whom I was answering didn't explain their needs correctly and actually wanted something quite different. The principle works.

Here's a way more complicated approach to something similar ... I think this is an extreme approach compared to your relatively less complicated-sounding requirements:
