tax to be shown

how do I get tax shown in shopping cart sidebox?

during checkout the tax ammount is visible but it has no "name", just the ammount is there.

But the shopping cart is still not. Anybody know how to get the tax visible in shopping cart? both side box and "view cart"

There are questions to answer first... :smile:

Do you charge the same tax to everyone, regardless of where they're from? Or do you sell in a restricted area? Tax is dependant, almost always, on the address of the purchaser.

So, if the purchaser has not logged in, you have no way of knowing where they are, and therefore you can't calculate the tax. So to do what you want, you'd have to force everyone to log in before shopping. Is that okay for what you sell?

More info about your site, products, tax laws in your area, and so on are necessary before we can answer accurately. A link to your site is always a good idea.

I didnt put a link because my site is in finnish. And yes you need to log in to view the shop. If you wanna study finnish and is a merchant and wanna buy whole sale then you can register at

Reason is that I have built it for EU and tax is to be included btw all member countries.

So back to the question.
People are logged in and sao far all buyers located in same country (Finland)
At the checkout they can see tax calculated but not in the shopping cart. It would be convinient for them to see allready at that point.'

I'm sure I've seen this discussed in the Currencies & Sales Taxes, VAT, GST, etc. part of the Setting Up Your Products part of the forum. But I can't find it at the moment.

You're more likely to get help in that section I think. The tax and cart experts check that section regularly.
