Extra Columns & Wider Centre Area

Hi

My site is: https://www.vervejewellery.co.za/store

I'm having 2 problems with my website despite fiddling with settings:

  1. I would like to display more products in the subcategories listing page. In terms of centre layout, I would like it to look like this site's: http://www.first-wholesale.com/fashion-metal-sunglasses-c-109.html

  2. The centre area of the website is a bit small. I've got the left side how I want it, but the right side has that grey gap. I need to expand the centre area but I'm not sure how? I've changed the width of the mainWrapper code in stylesheet.css but beyond that I'm a bit lost.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Extra Columns & Wider Centre Area

You are using a Template Monster template and because of this all bets are off due to the non conforming template construction they use.....BUT try this and see if it helps

Find in your stylesheet.css for your template the following and adjust the highlighted value to what you desire

#mainWrapper {
        text-align: left;
        width: 750px;
        vertical-align: top;
        background-colour: #ffffff;
        }

Re: Extra Columns & Wider Centre Area

As always, when you use Template Monster templates (especially that all-too-common, and to my eye, ugly, free one) you're kind of on your own with styling changes. TM uses multiple style sheets and changes core files, so it isn't as easy to make changes to the site's look.

My suggestion would be to follow the lead of the other site you referred to (a very nice job of modifying the 'Classic" template) and create your own look.

Unlike them, though, use the override system.

Re: Extra Columns & Wider Centre Area

Try adjusting the value in stylesheet_tm.css (line 45)

.main {
margin:auto;
width:766px;
}

That should make the extra space you want
