Features Box - Can be deleted or not shown?

I'd like to simplify my site a bit by taking off some of the stuff that's automatically on there. Where do I edit the page or the code to remove or disable the features box? Or the New products box?

How about the documents box?

And does anyone know how to ADD a block of code? I'd like to add a box with a coupon/offer in it. Thank you in advance!

Turn off what you don't want in admin>configuration>index listing and admin>tools>layout boxes controller.
