Before you ask, yes, I searched.

I want create a Zen installation to support electronic document downloads, but allow the authors of their respective document(s) to be able to manage them in terms of uploading, pricing and even manage versions as changes are made to their content.

Does anyone know of such a module?

I downloaded and installed the Admin Profiles contribution, but it seems that it isn't going to work for me because there's no way to allow a user to upload an item without giving them access to change the other products and categories in the store, unless I'm just not understanding how to use it properly.

Here's what I'm trying to do...

I want to create a zen storefront of electronic downloads... anything from MP3 to video to electronic books, but have the author manage their own products. I want the supplier to be able to log in and upload their own file(s), set the pricing, manage the description, and so on. But I want them to have access to ONLY their own items and NOT be able to change category descriptions or or see/change/delete other items in the system.

Any thoughts on that?

You could customize it further to check the products table for the manufacturers_id when editing, deleting or something of mass destruction and stop it from happening when it doesn't belong to the current Admin ...

I am not sure if there is an Add On already for this but it can be done to keep things safe ... :smile:
