Already have a fully customized site using PayPal cart

Hi there.

I already have a fully customised site which uses the PayPal shopping/checkout cart.

What I would like to know is, is it possible to implement certain parts of the Zen system on an already custom built website? Such as the checkout/payment and rewards systems?

Thanks

Re: Already have a fully customized site using PayPal cart

Zencart is designed to be your full website, so it is not possible to "cherry-pick" bits off it.

You will find, however, that it is generally possible to re-create the look and style of an existing website.

Zencart will also give your site a far more professional appearance than the "PayPal Button" system, which tends to suggest that the store owner is an amateur, or operates out of the garden shed.

Why not install a copy and try it?

Short answer - no.
Zen Cart is designed to handle the presentation and purchasing of your products, and would be difficult to separate. If you were to show just the shopping cart/checkout pages, you would still need to style their templates to match your existing site if you wanted them to look like they belonged together. Once you have done that, there is little further work in letting ZC take care of everything.
