One Product & Information on one page

This may sound odd, but I'm looking at creating a web site that sells only one product, and I want the ability for the consumer to be able to "buy" on the same page as the product page (i.e. enter credit card info, address, etc.).

I am looking for the functionality on the back end for the customer, so they can check the status of their order.

Is this possible with Zen?

Basically the site would look like this:

Product Image(s)
Product Description
Enter Name, Addy, email, credit card information (shipping cost would be fixed on a per item basis)

Checkout.
Done.

Another way of saying it, I'm looking for a one page checkout with the product information on the page as well (since I'm selling only 1 product).

Zen Cart is not set up for that from a stock install. Almost anything could be done, but you are looking at some custom coding.

I have two OSC sites running, and I am looking for a different style (as mentioned above), and looking at Zen, since its more CSS based than OSC.

Just not sure if how ZEN is setup if having the place where customer enters their info on the product page is even possible

Well, I'm partway there. I removed all products, and added 1 product at top level so when someone access the main domain, they're automatically taken to the 1 product I have listed.

Need to figure out to get some of the checkout information on the same page(even if they have to finish on page 2 of checkout).

Custom coding begins...

Have a look in the Free Software Add Ons, searching on "checkout". There are a couple of mods there that will help you, and they may even do enough as is. That is, you should be able to reduce the checkout process to one page. That, plus your one page product, would be fine I think. And if you want to go the extra step, at least a lot of the work has been done for you.
